QTIS Explained

QTIS OUTLINED:

All 2YO and 3YO QTIS races conducted within Qld will carry the full QTIS bonuses of $35,000, $12,000, $10,000 and $5,000 for their respective meetings. This means that Saturday metropolitan racing in Queensland will be amongst the most rewarding in the country; with colts and geldings eligible to claim prizemoney of over $73,000 for winning whilst fillies will be racing for a winners cheque of over $85,500 every single week.

4YO QTIS bonuses will be applied on selected open races in South East Queensland, with the standard breeders' bonus' applicable.

NON-TAB RACES - There are no age restrictions on QTIS races for non-TAB meetings in Queensland (previously restricted to 5yos) 

FILLIES BONUS provides the winning 2YO and 3YO fillies with a 50% increase to all standard QTIS bonuses. This is applicable on all QTIS races and for the winner and both placegetters.

QTISx BONUS - The winners of QTISx bonuses will have the option of ‘doubling up’ their winnings through the redemption of a voucher which can be applied to selected Queensland yearling sales, including the Magic Millions and Capricornia Yearling Sale. QTIS registered horses will also be eligible for the following QTISx bonuses:

Group 1 Bonus – A $50,000 bonus - or a $100,000 sales voucher which can be redeemed on a QTIS eligible horse at four prescribed Queensland sales - across eight Group 1 races;

Black-type Bonus – A $10,000 bonus - or a $20,000 sales voucher which can be redeemed on a QTIS eligible horse at four prescribed Queensland sales - across 75 additional black-type races; and

Features Bonus – A $10,000 bonus - or a $20,000 sales voucher which can be redeemed on a QTIS eligible horse at four prescribed Queensland sales - across 20 additional feature races nominated by RQ. 

BREEDERS' BONUS - Breeders will receive an equivalent of 6 per cent of the winner’s QTIS bonus for all QTIS races in Queensland for progeny of Qld based stallions. This is applicable to 2YO and 3YO racing and will include the progeny of every Queensland based stallion. This is another boost to the industry, as the Breeders Bonus is no longer restricted to only nominated stallions. It is now open to every Queensland stallion. The Breeder is classed as the person who makes the first QTIS payment (ie. the payment due in October of each year)

QTISx BREEDERS' BONUS - Breeders will receive $10,000 for Group 1 races and $5000 for the remaining black-type races and features prescribed above. These are for QTISx winning horses only. (please see conditions for Breeders' Bonus above)
