Trusting comes to Queensland

The prodigiously talented Trusting will stand his first season at stud in Queensland in 2012.

The winner of his only start as a two-year-old, Trusting showcased his huge talent when winning the time-honoured Warwick Stakes (Gr 2, WFA) over 1400m in the blistering time of 1:21.59 on just his third race start.

Trusting then recorded the first of his Group 1 placing’s when runner-up to Denman in the Golden Rose (Gr 1) over 1400m at Rosehill to clearly establish himself as one of the best of a generation that included the likes of So You Think, Denman, Starspangledbanner and Manhattan Rain.

Trusting trained on to win the Chelmsford Stakes (2000m) and Hill Stakes (1600m), both Group 2 races at weight-for-age and he retires with Group 1 placing’s in the Epsom Handicap (1600m), George Main Stakes (1600m), Golden Rose (1400m), Kingston Town Classic (1800m) and Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m), and retires the winner of four races and seven placing’s and earnings of $935,600.

The high-class race record is backed up by the stallion’s pedigree.

His sire Tale Of the Cat (USA) is one of the leading sire sons of the breed-shaper Storm Cat, while his dam Legible is a Group winning daughter of multiple champion sire and broodmare sire Zabeel.

Like successful sires Elusive Quality (USA) and Grand Lodge (USA), Trusting is inbred to influential mare Somethingroyal - through her champion sons Secretariat and Sir Gaylord – and also to Knight’s Daughter, the dam of champion Round Table and ancestress of Tale Of The Cat.

Trusting will join the Patinack Farm roster and will stand for $16,500 (incl gst)
