This is Erica’s second year on the committee. She wanted to have an input after EI made her realise how valuable the association is.

Woodwinds is only a very new stud, operating for three years. It was previously a dairy farm before being hit hard by deregulation and the drought. The complex was converted into a spelling and agistment facility, gradually moving into breeding.

Woodwinds prides itself on being a small, boutique stud, very client focused, with most owners breeding to race rather than for commercial purposes. She hopes that by being on the TBQA she can be the voice for these types of breeders.

Erica has been married 31 years and has two sons and one grandson. Both her sons are involved with the stud.

The highlight of her breeding career so far is seeing her stallions ‘Fouardee’ and ‘Tanabota’ throw nice types, that have good chance of getting to the track and her goal now is to see them perform.
